Windows 10 1703 – AzureAD join Out Of Box Experience (OOBE) – Cloud First

Windows 10 Creators Update – also known as Windows 10 1703 build 15063 is here.

There is some changes for how the Out Of Box Experience (OOBE) is – I will show what is look likes in this blog post.

This OOBE is for the Windows 10 Enterprise.

This is the first screen that meets the user when starting a new Windows 10 1703 device

The user have to choose a region and click yes.

The user has to choose the right keyboard layout and click yes.

The user can add a second keyboard layout or just click skip.

If the device is on Ethernet Windows will check for updates.

Now the really big change is coming!

The default is to join the device to Azure Active Directory.

Sign in with your Microsoft work or school account (AzureAD account)

Enter your password and click next.

Choose your privacy settings for your device – this is also new, this is a part of Microsoft new transparency and controls for your privacy settings.

Click Accept.

This is part of the AzureAD two-step verification when AzureAD joining a Windows 10 device. To disable or configure this you need to use the automatic enrollment to Intune feature and then configure Windows Hallo for Business

Click Set up PIN

You will receive a Call, SMS or use the Azure Authenticator App

Then you can set your PIN and click ok.

When you click ok – you are ready to use your new AzureAD joined Windows 10 device.
