How to change MDM Authority in SCCM CB 1610 – Mobile-First Cloud-First

maximios February 28, 2021

In SCCM 1610 we got a new feature for changing MDM Authority from the SCCM console.

Things are changing fast in Intune standalone – so if you chose a Intune Hybrid with SCCM don’t worry – it is a decision that can be changed that can be changed.

Your can do it your self from the SCCM console.

It still requires a call to Microsoft Intune support to get your tenant enabled for this feature.

Please read the new “Choose between Microsoft Intune standalone and hybrid mobile device management with System Center Configuration Manager” from Microsoft when you are designing your Intune MDM solutions.

How are you change MDM Authority to Microsoft Intune:

Go into your SCCM Console

Administration -> Cloud Services -> Intune subscription

Click Delete

Select Change MDM Authority to Microsoft Intune

Click Next

Click Yes

Remember that you need to recreate every thing in Intune standalone – policies and applications.

But you don’t have to reenroll your users devices – so your users don’t have to get involved when you are making a backend change in your environment.
