How to add “hidden” Windows UWP to Windows Store for Business – Cloud First

maximios October 23, 2025

This blogpost is about how to get a Windows UWP into the Windows Store for Business when you cannot search for it.

There is 2 examples in this post:

  1. Skype Room System App – It is “hidden” and cannot be searched in the public store or in Windows Store for Business
  2. Windows Configuration Designer – It can be searched in the public store but not in Windows store for Business

Skype Room System

This app is hidden both in the public Windows Store and Windows Store for business so you need a direct link to find it.

When you search for Skype Room System in the store you get no results

But with a direct link it is possible to find it in the public store and install in with a MSA account.

The link is: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/skype-room-system/9nblggh5799l

When you have the link for the public store you can convert it to a direct link for Windows Store for Business.

https://businessstore.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/skype-room-system/9nblggh5799l

As you can see the App Name / ID is the same skype-room-system/9nblggh5799l so the URL link  you just need to replace www with businessstore in the link.

The you can get the app in the Windows Store for Business and put it in your inventory or use a deployment tool like Intune or ConfigMgr to deploy the app.

After the app in the Windows Store for Business you can search for it in the Store app on Windows 10.

2. Windows Configuration Designer

This app is not hidden in the public store but only in the Windows Store for Business.

So you can search for it in Windows Store find it and install it with your MSA account.

You can also search for it in windows store in a webbrowser – then you can get the deep link you need to find it in Windows Store for Business.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/windows-configuration-designer/9nblggh4tx22

When you search for it in Windows Store for Business – you get No result found

Then you can just change the link to point to Windows Store for Business

https://businessstore.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/windows-configuration-designer/9nblggh4tx22

But in this case for some unknown reason is not available in Windows Store for Business.

The solution in this blog post has been possible by help from one of my colleagues and fellow Microsoft MVP – Windows and Devices for IT,  Jesper Nielsen – @DotJesper
